22 Aug OFFICIAL OCSOBER LAUNCH @ MARTIN PLACE, SYDNEY

On Tuesday, Double Edge assisted in officially launching the 2012 Ocsober campaign at Martin Place, Sydney. To kick off this year’s initiative, the Double Edge team, Life Education and healthy drinks brand Emma & Tom’s held a lunchtime event with appearances by Ocsober ambassadors Richard Wilkins, Natalie Gruzlewski, Ellyse Perry, Nathan Bracken, Blake Worrall-Thompson and Arrnott. Ocsober is a fundraising initiative that encourages Australians to give up alcohol for the month of October and raise funds for Life Education to continue undertaking its health and drug education programs in schools with their popular mascot, Healthy Harold.

The day was a huge success with crowds being treated to a special performance by Popstars finalist Arrnott and tasty juice samples from Emma and Tom’s

The NSW Minister of Healthy Lifestyles Kevin Humphries also delivered a moving speech that touched on the horrible statistics around the miss use of drugs and alcohol among young Australians. It touched on the need to get in early and teach young kids about drug, alcohol and health.

The highlight of the afternoon however was being joined by Life Education’s iconic mascot, Healthy Harold. He was clearly the most popular person of the afternoon, with people stopping to take photos and reminisce of their favourite times they had when Harold came to their schools.

We look forward to a very successful campaign and all the fun that Ocsober brings!
